A campaign video is the single best way for you to make a human connection with your supporters. It gives you the opportunity to share your passion and dream, and build trust with your donors. A video not only helps to motivate your supporters to back your project, but to share your project with others in their own networks.
We know that projects with videos have almost double the success rates of those without. Moreover, we know from our years of experience working on social change projects how important that connection is in efforts to change the world.
We want the best for you and your outstanding social impact project, and for this reason, not having a video is not an option on StartSomeGood.
Some video tools include: iMovie and Animoto among others. Be sure you're able to download your movie so you can upload it to Youtube or Vimeo.
Here are some great examples of various types of videos:
- Prezi video: Spouts of Water
- Team interviews: Four Teachers Project
- Direct to camera, with some editing: One Degree
- Direct to camera plus slideshow: Crowdsourced Travel Bangladesh
- Direct to camera, no-editing: Supporting Isolated Aid Workers Across the Globe
- Voice-over slideshow: Grow the Green Campaign

For both Vimeo and YouTube, make sure your settings are set as "Public."
For Vimeo, be sure that you include the direct URL link to the video, and not a "channel" video.
